Video: Coloring With Alcohol

I’ve discovered a fun new way for you to color your stamped images!  I was goofing around with my aqua painter (which normally holds water) and wondered what would happen if I added alcohol to it instead.  It was a fun experiment that turned out to be a winner!   The result was almost like using a copic or blendability alcohol marker but in a paintbrush form!  Here’s a video (if viewing from your email, you may need to come to my blog to view)

Here’s some closeups of the Merry Mice Gift Card Holder (don’t forget the mice are on sale for 12.75 until the end of November!

and the inside when the belly-band slides off….

I demonstrated the alcohol coloring at the Stampin’ Up On Stage event in Atlanta earlier in the month.  Here are the projects I created using the alcohol and ink pads and Beautiful You (which will debut January 2017 in the Occasions Catalog. The one on the right I  masked off the edges with low-tack painters tape and tapped on the alcohol and Mint Macaron ink to get the mottled look:

pssst……..Did I tell you there is a BIG sale coming up for Thanksgiving week?!   November 21st Stampin’ Up will hold their annual Online Extravaganza (not just for online but that’s what they call it) and it’s usually pretty good!  Tune in that week where I will post all the details!

Hi Linda, I just tried coloring with alcohol and I really like that it didn’t “pill” the whisper white cs especially since I was a bit heavy handed. Overall I like it. Thanks for the video demo!

Thanks for the fun videos, I can’t wait to try the alcohol in the blender pen, you make it look SO easy! And who knew the envelope punch board was so easy, measure once and that’s it…I bet I could do it too if I tried. Thanks for inspiring me! (love the fonts/graphics on the envelope punch board video too…someone’s been practicing new stuff!)
